MINNEAPOLIS, MN — The Twin Cities hiring calendar wakes up in September, and this year it woke up busy. Twenty-one in-person job fairs, employer recruiting sessions and store hiring days are on the books across the metro this fall, stretching from Brooklyn Boulevard out to Woodbury Central Park and down to Killebrew Drive in Bloomington. Most of them cost nothing, most of them take walk-ins, and every one of them puts you in a room with someone who can actually move your application forward.

Twenty-one in-person hiring events between Monday, September 14 and Wednesday, November 4, spread across Hennepin, Ramsey, Anoka and Washington counties; sixteen have already taken place. Here is who is recruiting at each one, what to bring, and why the address matters more than you think.

Career Fair — Monday, September 14

10:00 AM – 12:00 PM | Northwest Family Service Center, 7051 Brooklyn Blvd. #200, Brooklyn Center

The week opens on the north side, in the county service building just off Brooklyn Boulevard a few blocks north of Bass Lake Road. This is a general career fair rather than a single-employer pitch, which makes it the best first stop for anyone who is still figuring out which direction to aim. Two hours is a short window, so get there closer to ten than to noon. Bring printed resumes; the tables here move fast and nobody wants to squint at your phone.

Employment and Career Supports Job Fair — Tuesday, September 15

10:00 AM – 1:00 PM | International Institute of Minnesota, 1694 Como Ave, St. Paul

The Institute sits on Como Avenue near the State Fairgrounds and has spent decades placing New American workers into Twin Cities jobs, particularly in health care, manufacturing and hospitality. If English is your second language, or if your credentials came from another country, this is the room where that is treated as an asset instead of a hurdle. Staff on site can talk through training pathways as well as open roles.

Worth being precise about this one: an Employer of the Day is a recruiting table, not a job fair. One company, one room, three hours. Randstad is a staffing firm, which means the conversation is less about a single opening and more about getting into a pipeline that feeds warehouse, light industrial, clerical and customer service placements across the metro. If you want to be working inside two weeks rather than two months, staffing is the fastest door in the building.

Roseville Area Schools Employer of the Day — Tuesday, September 15

School districts do most of their real hiring in the first six weeks of the term, once they know which classrooms are short-staffed. Roseville Area Schools is setting up at the Ramsey County library branch on Hamline just south of County Road B. Expect paraprofessional, nutrition services, custodial and bus driver conversations. These jobs follow the school calendar, which is the entire appeal for parents and the entire drawback for anyone who needs summer income.

Onsite Hiring Event — Wednesday, September 16

10:30 AM – 12:30 PM | Anoka County Job Training Center, 1201 89th Ave NE, Rooms 2403/2404, Blaine

Up in Blaine, just off Highway 65 near the Anoka County line, the Job Training Center runs a tight two-hour hiring event on the second floor. Anoka County's employment staff screen the employers they bring in, so the tables tend to be companies with real openings rather than resume collectors. Give yourself an extra ten minutes to find room 2403 once you are inside the building.

Washington County Career Fair — Wednesday, September 16

The biggest east metro event of the month, and the one with the longest window. Woodbury Central Park sits just off Radio Drive south of Valley Creek Road, with parking that does not require a prayer. A county-run career fair in a suburb this size usually draws a mix of health care, retail, municipal and light manufacturing employers. If you can only make one event on this list and you live east of the river, make it this one.

Marsden Services Employer of the Day — Tuesday, September 22

Marsden is a St. Paul institution in the facilities business, cleaning and maintaining office towers, hospitals and industrial sites across the region. Janitorial and facilities work is one of the few fields in this metro where second and third shift pays a real premium and where a clean background and reliable transportation matter more than a diploma. Ask about the shift differential before you ask about anything else.

TSA Employer of the Day — Tuesday, September 29

The Transportation Security Administration closes out the month downtown. Federal screening work at MSP comes with a federal benefits package and a hiring process that is slower and more thorough than anything else on this list: a background investigation, a medical evaluation and a computer-based assessment all sit between the handshake and the badge. Come to this table to start the clock, not to get hired on the spot.

Career Fair at Oxboro Library — Monday, October 5

Hennepin County's workforce team and CareerForce fill a library meeting room just south of I-494 with six employers: Atlas Staffing, Metropolitan Council Environmental Services, MN Veterans Home, Storylink Creative, The Vision Companies and Warby Parker. The roles run from machine operators, welders and warehouse workers to nursing assistants, opticians, sales advisors and office staff. It is free, open to everyone, and walk-ins are welcome, though online registration helps the hosts plan. Two hours goes fast, so be there near ten. → See details

People of Color Career Fair — Tuesday, October 13

The fall edition of the twice-a-year fair for professionals of color takes over Room 200 downtown. The organizer says more than 30 regional employers are confirmed, naming Andersen Corporation, U.S. Bank and Metro Transit, and the City of Minneapolis Public Works department lists the fair on its own recruiting calendar. Expect networking with hiring managers and some onsite interviews. Register online first: registered job seekers get a free Metro Transit ride pass, which beats hunting for a ramp on a weekday. Employer of the Day, St. Paul — Tuesday, October 13

The same morning as the Convention Center fair, CareerForce runs another one-employer recruiting table in downtown St. Paul. It is a drop-in with no appointment needed, but the listing does not name the company, so call CareerForce at 651-259-7500 before you go and find out who you are dressing for. Hiring Event, North Minneapolis — Wednesday, October 14

Recruiters from several employers set up on West Broadway for a two-hour lunchtime drop-in, a week after the same building hosted a manufacturing hiring event. This one is a general job fair, not manufacturing specific. CareerForce says the participating employer list is available from the center itself, so a quick call is worth it. Hiring Event, South Minneapolis — Monday, October 19

Ramsey County brings a Westinghouse representative to the Roseville Library, where the school district recruited in September. All are welcome and you should bring a resume. Macy's Holiday Hiring Day — Thursday, October 22

Macy's runs a nationwide in-store hiring day for part-time seasonal store jobs, and the company lists Minneapolis among its top hiring markets this season. Walk in at any of the four full-line metro stores; there is no registration, though applying online first saves time at the counter. Hours differ by store, so call yours before you go, and bring photo ID. Macy's has not published a Twin Cities headcount or a single pay rate, so read each posting's range. Atlas Staffing takes the Roseville Library slot that afternoon. Its listing does not spell out roles, but at Anoka County's hiring events in Blaine the agency has recruited assemblers, CNC operators, forklift drivers and production workers. If you could make only one of the two Roseville days, pick by the employer. → See details

Onsite Hiring Event, Blaine — Wednesday, October 28

10:30 AM – 12:30 PM | Anoka County Job Training Center / CareerForce Blaine, 1201 89th Ave NE, 2nd Floor, Rooms 2402–2404, Blaine

The deepest room on the fall calendar. The posted roster, which the county says is subject to change, lists 23 employers: TSA, Hennepin County, the Minnesota Department of Revenue, Cintas, Dominium, Metropolitan Mosquito Control, the National Sports Center, Chick-fil-A, school bus operators First Student, Kottkes' and Rehbein, staffing firms and a long list of home care agencies hiring caregivers. Posted pay runs from $13.25 an hour at the low end to $35 an hour, and Hennepin County lists salaried roles up to about $96,000 a year. → See details

Sales and Management Career Fair — Wednesday, October 28

6:00 PM | Wyndham Bloomington – Mall of America, 1901 Killebrew Dr, Bloomington

The only evening event on this list. United Career Fairs runs a small sales and management fair on Killebrew Drive just north of Mall of America, a short hop from the Blue Line's Mall of America station. Each hiring manager gives a short pitch first, then the room opens up for networking, so you hear every company out before deciding whose table to work. It is free, and the organizer says no formal sales background is required, which makes it a real option for servers, bartenders, retail associates and call-center reps who can hold a conversation and handle a no. Bring at least 15 printed resumes; that is the organizer's number, not ours. → See details

Career Fair, Brooklyn Center — Wednesday, November 4

10:00 AM – 12:00 PM | Hennepin County Library – Brookdale, Room AB, 6125 Shingle Creek Parkway, Brooklyn Center

Hennepin County, CareerForce and the library close out the fall with a two-hour fair at the Brookdale library. The roster is strong: Boston Scientific (manufacturing and quality technicians, medical assemblers), the U.S. Postal Service (mail handler assistants and holiday clerk assistants), the City of Minneapolis, Hennepin County, MnDOT, the Minnesota DNR, Osseo Area Schools, Minneapolis Marriott Northwest, Randstad, Labor Solutions, Morris Packaging and more. 🗓️ Also on the Calendar

Two more events showed up on the state's own listings in September but did not clear the bar for a full entry above: a U.S. Postal Service automotive technician career fair on September 16 in Minneapolis, which never published a venue address, and a virtual training resource fair on September 23, which was not a hiring event. Both dates have passed. If you turn wrenches for a living, CareerForce at 651-259-7500 can tell you whether the Postal Service is recruiting again.

💵 The Wage Line Runs Right Through This List

Here is the detail that surprises people who job hunt across the metro: the events above sit in nine different wage jurisdictions, and the address where you actually perform the work decides your legal floor. Not where you live. Not where the company is headquartered.

Work performed inside Minneapolis carries a $16.37 per hour minimum as of January 1, 2026, and that rate applies to every employer in the city regardless of size. Work performed inside St. Paul also reaches $16.37 for macro, large and small employers, with a lower $14.25 floor for micro employers of five or fewer people.

Step outside those two city limits and the number drops hard. Brooklyn Center, Roseville, Blaine, Woodbury, Bloomington, Edina and Minnetonka all sit at the Minnesota state minimum of $11.41 per hour, because St. Paul and Minneapolis are the only two cities in the state with minimum wage ordinances of their own. That is a gap of nearly five dollars an hour between a job on Seventh Place East and the same job twelve minutes up I-35W.

None of this means suburban work pays badly. In practice, competition for warehouse, health care support and facilities labor in this metro pushes real starting pay well above every one of these floors, and the legal minimum is a backstop rather than a going rate. But if two offers land in the same week, knowing which side of the line each worksite falls on is worth asking about out loud.

🔎 How to Pick the Right Ones

Sixteen of these events are behind us. Here is where the five still ahead fit:

  • Still deciding what you want, or need income fast: Blaine on October 28, with 23 employers in one room, or Brooklyn Center on November 4.
  • Holiday retail and part-time seasonal work: Macy's October 22 hiring day has passed; the company's last national hiring day is November 19.
  • Manufacturing and production: November 4 for Boston Scientific, Morris Packaging and Randstad, or October 27 in Roseville for Atlas Staffing.
  • Government and public sector: October 28 in Blaine for TSA, Hennepin County and the Department of Revenue; November 4 for the City of Minneapolis, MnDOT, the DNR and the Postal Service.
  • Caregiving and school bus driving: October 28 in Blaine, where home care agencies and three bus companies are on the roster.
  • Working days, or curious about sales: Bloomington on October 28. It starts at six in the evening and no sales background is required.

📋 What to Bring to Any of Them

  • Ten printed resumes, one page each. More than you think you need.
  • A photo ID and your Social Security number written down somewhere safe, for on-the-spot applications.
  • Dates and supervisor names for your last three jobs. This is what stalls applications at the table.
  • Interview-appropriate clothing. Several of these employers screen and interview the same day.
  • A charged phone, because half of these applications finish online that evening.

Do I need to register in advance?

Most of these events take walk-ins, but registration requirements are set by each host rather than by the state. The safest move is to call the hosting location before you drive. CareerForce's general line is 651-259-7500.

Are these job fairs free?

CareerForce says its events are offered at no cost to job seekers or employers in most cases. Individual admission costs were not published for every event above, so confirm with the host if that matters to your plans.

What is the difference between a job fair and an Employer of the Day?

A job fair puts multiple employers in one room. An Employer of the Day is a single company holding a recruiting table for a few hours. Both can end in an interview; only the first lets you comparison shop.

Does my legal minimum wage depend on which suburb I work in?

Yes. The address where the work is performed sets the floor. Minneapolis and St. Paul both run city ordinances well above the Minnesota state minimum, and the surrounding suburbs do not.

Can I attend if I already have a job?

Nothing on this list restricts attendance to the unemployed. Several of these events run midday, which is the real obstacle for anyone currently working a first shift. The October 28 fair in Bloomington is the exception, since it starts at six in the evening.
