MINNEAPOLIS, MN — The People of Color Career Fair returns to downtown Minneapolis on Tuesday, October 13, filling Room 200 of the Minneapolis Convention Center with regional employers from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. It is a professional hiring event built around networking as much as the resume drop, and this is the fall half of a fair that runs twice a year.

🔥 Who the Fair Is For
Founded by Sharon Smith-Akinsanya, the fair was built to connect professionals of color with Minnesota employers who say they want to hire them. It runs twice a year, with a spring edition in St. Paul and a fall edition here in Minneapolis. Her pitch to employers is simple math: "One in four Minnesotans is a Person of Color," she said in promoting this year's spring fair.
The spring 2026 edition at the Saint Paul RiverCentre gives a sense of the room. It drew about 40 Minnesota employers and more than 1,000 attendees, and it was free to attend. Major sponsors included U.S. Bank, Andersen Windows & Doors, Best Buy and Target, with networking breakfasts in financial services, digital and tech, and an emerging leaders track.
One employer is already on the October list. The City of Minneapolis Public Works department includes this fair on its fall recruiting calendar, which makes it a good day to ask about city careers in streets, water, fleet and engineering.

Admission cost for the fall fair also is not posted on the organizer's page. The spring fair was free, but confirm when you register rather than assuming.
