Twin Cities Drop-In Hiring Events Oct. 13 to Nov. 4: Minneapolis, St. Paul, Blaine and Brooklyn Center

MINNEAPOLIS, MN — The Twin Cities' public workforce centers have quietly stacked the next four weeks with drop-in hiring events, from West Broadway and East Lake Street to the Ramsey County Government Center, the Roseville Library, Blaine and Brooklyn Center. Most run two or three hours on a weekday, need no appointment, and put you across the table from a recruiter instead of an applicant portal.

Nine drop-in hiring events between Tuesday, October 13 and Wednesday, November 4, run by CareerForce, Ramsey County, Anoka County and Hennepin County. Two of them have already posted full employer rosters with pay ranges.

📅 Table of Contents

Employer of the Day, St. Paul — Tuesday, October 13

10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. | CareerForce in St. Paul, Ramsey County Government Center, 121 7th Place East, Suite 2300

One recruiter, one employer, three hours in downtown St. Paul. The CareerForce listing describes it as a drop-in with no appointment needed, but it does not name the employer. Call the CareerForce line at 651-259-7500 before you go so you know which company you are dressing for. The same morning, the People of Color Career Fair fills the Minneapolis Convention Center. Different event, different crowd: see our People of Color Career Fair guide.

Job Fair/Hiring Event, North Minneapolis — Wednesday, October 14

11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. | CareerForce in Minneapolis North, 800 West Broadway Avenue

Recruiters from several employers set up on West Broadway for a two-hour lunchtime window. The official listing calls it a drop-in and says the participating employer list is available from the center itself, so a quick call to 651-259-7500 is worth it. Bring printed resumes and be ready to talk on the spot.

Job Fair/Hiring Event, South Minneapolis — Monday, October 19

1:00 – 3:00 p.m. | CareerForce in Minneapolis South, 777 East Lake Street

The East Lake Street center runs the same format on a Monday afternoon: multiple employers, open positions, drop in any time in the window. Employers are again not named on the CareerForce page. Afternoon parking along the Lake Street corridor can be tight, so leave a few extra minutes.

Westinghouse Employer of the Day, Roseville — Tuesday, October 20

3:00 – 5:00 p.m. | Roseville Library, 2180 North Hamline Avenue

Ramsey County Workforce Solutions brings a Westinghouse representative to the Roseville Library for a late-afternoon session. The listing says all are welcome and asks you to bring a resume. Specific roles are not posted, so come with questions about what the company is filling in the metro.

Onsite Hiring Event, Blaine — Wednesday, October 21

10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. | Anoka County Job Training Center / CareerForce Blaine, 1201 89th Ave NE, 2nd Floor

Anoka County runs these multi-employer mornings regularly at its Blaine center. The October 21 listing carries an employer roster, but that roster sits under a header dated October 7, an earlier event. Until the county confirms who is coming on the 21st, treat the list as unconfirmed and call 763-324-2300 to check.

Employer of the Day, St. Paul — Tuesday, October 27

10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. | CareerForce in St. Paul, Ramsey County Government Center, 121 7th Place East, Suite 2300

A second downtown St. Paul session two weeks after the first, with a different employer likely at the table. As with the 13th, the listing leaves the company unnamed. Call ahead.

Atlas Staffing Employer of the Day, Roseville — Tuesday, October 27

3:00 – 5:00 p.m. | Roseville Library, 2180 North Hamline Avenue

Atlas Staffing takes the Roseville Library slot that afternoon. Its listing does not spell out roles, but at a recent Anoka County hiring event in Blaine the agency recruited assemblers, CNC operators, forklift drivers and production workers. If you could make only one of the two Roseville days, pick by the employer.

Onsite Hiring Event, Blaine — Wednesday, October 28

10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. | Anoka County Job Training Center / CareerForce Blaine, 1201 89th Ave NE, 2nd Floor, Rooms 2402–2404

This is the deepest room on the calendar. The posted roster, which the county notes is subject to change, includes TSA (transportation security officers), Hennepin County (mental health therapists, security and correctional officers, engineering technicians), the Minnesota Department of Revenue, Cintas, Dominium, Metropolitan Mosquito Control District, the National Sports Center, Chick-fil-A in Blaine and Coon Rapids, school bus operators First Student, Kottkes' and Rehbein, and a long list of home care and disability services agencies hiring caregivers, CNAs and direct support professionals. Posted pay ranges run from about $16 an hour for entry-level roles to roughly $96,000 a year at the top of the Hennepin County range. Food shelf, housing, transit and 55+ employment resources will also be in the room.

Career Fair, Brooklyn Center — Wednesday, November 4

10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. | Hennepin County Library – Brookdale, Room AB, 6125 Shingle Creek Parkway

Hennepin County's workforce development department, CareerForce and the library close out the stretch with a two-hour fair at the Brookdale library. The listing names a strong roster: Boston Scientific (manufacturing and quality technicians, medical assemblers), the U.S. Postal Service (mail handler assistants and holiday clerk assistants), the City of Minneapolis, Hennepin County, MnDOT, the Minnesota DNR, Osseo Area Schools, Minneapolis Marriott Northwest, Randstad, Labor Solutions, Morris Packaging and more. Everyone is welcome. You can register in advance, and walk-ins are accepted.

🔎 How to Pick the Right Ones

  • Manufacturing and production: November 4 in Brooklyn Center for Boston Scientific and Morris Packaging, or October 27 in Roseville for Atlas Staffing.
  • Government and public sector: October 28 in Blaine (TSA, Hennepin County, Department of Revenue) and November 4 (City of Minneapolis, MnDOT, DNR, USPS).

What to Bring to Any of Them

  • Ten printed resumes, tailored if you know the employer
  • A driver's license and any certifications (CDL, CNA, forklift) the role calls for
  • A short answer to "what kind of work do you want next"
  • A phone call first for any event that doesn't name its employers
